there's just not enough.

for some time now i've been intrigued, inspired, and in love with hymns written heretofore. song lyrics in general stir my emotions and create in me a wonder about the author's life and circumstances in which they wrote the work that i'm listening to. i love reading about how a song came into fruition {alissa walters: i used that word for you}, especially hymns of praise to my King and Savior.

i want to share a hymn that i'm currently dwelling on which fills my heart with gratitude and joy for what a great and mighty Shepherd is leading me:

could we with ink the ocean fill
and were the skies of parchment made;
were every stalk on earth a quill
and every man a scribe by trade;
to write the love of God above
would drain the ocean dry
nor could the scroll contain the whole
though stretched from sky to sky

anybody wanna join me in the redemption dance right now?! good grief these lyrics get my soul giddy! one of the most incredible attributes of God's nature is that He is infinite; and that means all that flows out of Him is also infinite; it is boundless, unending, immeasurable, never-ceasing...

His LOVE is infinite.
His MERCY is infinite.
His RIGHTEOUSNESS is infinite.
His PATIENCE.
His GRACE.
His HOLINESS.
His MAJESTY.
His GOODNESS.

there isn't enough water in the ocean or space in the heavens that could be used to communicate the unfathomable goodness + grandeur of the Most High; the great I AM.

gosh, i gotta go sit on this for a little while. i mean let's face it, meditating on His infinite nature + being could take awhile...

maybe even fooooreeeeeevveeeeeerr { literally }.
